Foreign nationals were also among those arrested in the Budapest drug raid

The police action at the night club was part of a wider investigation.

As reported on our site, the police conducted a large-scale drug raid at the Dojo Club in Budapest on Friday night.

Following this, the Hungarian government commissioner for drug affairs wrote the following on Facebook:

“211 people were checked at the venue and 49 were taken for testing based on clinical symptoms. The tests showed that 16 people had taken drugs and criminal proceedings have been initiated against them. However, the investigation is not yet over.”

Many of the partygoers were examined by a doctor who checked their pupils.

“Those with higher heart rates were taken away by the police, while others had to urinate in front of two women,” said an eyewitness.

The police held a press conference today, revealing further details of the case.

According to these details, the club was not selected by the police on an ad hoc basis, but was part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking. In addition, the police received reports from the public about drug use at the club.

Rapid tests carried out at the police station showed that 11 people tested positive for cocaine, two for THC, one for amphetamine, one for all three drugs and one for cocaine and THC.

No arrests were made and all 16 suspects — three women and 13 men — were released pending trial.

Of the 16 suspects, four are foreign nationals: two Turkish, one Spanish and one Israeli.

The police also found 14 small packages containing cocaine or traces of it on the dance floor and at the bars of the club.

The police have launched a separate investigation into the packages on suspicion of drug trafficking.
