Drug Raid at a Budapest Night Club – 49 People Taken For Testing

So far, 16 people have tested positive for drug use. The police are continuing their investigation.

“211 people were checked at the venue, and 49 were taken for testing based on clinical symptoms: the test showed drug use in 16 people, and criminal proceedings have been initiated against them, but the investigation is not over yet.”

This is what the Hungarian government commissioner for drug affairs wrote in his Facebook post today. László Horváth said that the raid took place on Friday night in Budapest based on reports from the public and criminal intelligence.

“When the police arrived, several people threw away the packages they were carrying, and the suspected drugs found in them will be subjected to expert examination,” said the government commissioner, who did not name the location, which can be identified from the photos: it is the VIP section of Ötkert, the Dojo club.

“Suddenly, the lights came on, the police came in, and they searched several people,” an eyewitness told the Telex.hu news portal about the events.

Many of the partygoers were examined by a doctor, who checked their pupils. “Those with higher heart rates were taken away by the police, while others had to urinate in front of two women,” said the eyewitness.

The police will hold a press conference on Monday to provide details.
