Dear My Readers,
I am writing to you to inform about the heat wave that is baking Hungary right now.
During the daytime the temperature is nearly 40 degrees Celsius, and at night it is jut a bit bellow 30.
Actually it is not totally unusual here, we have this kind of tropical heat 4-5 times a summer, but weirdly enough, everybody is always terribly surprised at it including the media.
Hungarians have been living in the Carpathian Basin for over one thousand years but we have not got used to the continental climate, which is described in our 4thgrade geographical textbook as hot in summer and cold in winter, including extremities.
Perhaps we need another thousand years to adopt.
