Futuristic Metro Stations in Budapest

A cheap but memorable program recommendation.

“Is this Canary Wharf?” a friend of mine who lives in London asked when I shared the photo below with him.

He was surprised when I replied that not quite—it was actually Kálvin Square in Budapest, more precisely one of the stations of Metro Line 4, which opened in 2014.

Few people know that almost all stations on this metro line are similarly striking works of art, and visiting them can easily be considered a cultural programme in its own right.

It is especially recommended for those interested in creative architectural solutions.

In addition to the Kálvin Square station, Gellért Square and Fővám Square also stand out. These stations are relatively close to one another and can be visited with a single metro ticket.
