Hungarian Eurovision star caught with drugs

“I’m not Escobar,” said ByeAlex.

“Today’s news about me is true! They did find a very small amount of drugs on me!”

This was how Hungarian pop star ByeAlex commented on reports that the police had found drugs on him and members of his band.

The singer was named by the tabloid Blikk after the police issued a statement saying that they had conducted a house search on “a frontman and members of his band,” which resulted in the voluntary surrender of cocaine purchased for personal consumption.

Besides, the police took a 45-year-old Budapest resident into custody who, according to his statement, had purchased drugs for his own consumption, to give to his friends for free, and to sell, and they also identified a 63-year-old Italian citizen from whom the Budapest man had purchased the cocaine. He was also taken into custody.

BeyAlex and two members of his band are suspected of drug possession, but they are free to defend themselves.

The musician writes about this in his post:

“Today, police investigators did indeed search my home. About fifteen officers showed up at my apartment at 6:30 a.m. I was a little annoyed that they came so early, and I didn’t like that my hair was probably a mess, but I cooperated with them in every way. The same thing happened to the other members of my band: everyone’s homes were searched, then they were taken to the police station, given urine tests (again, with several colleagues on standby), and then sent back.

So today, about 100 police officers were mobilized in Budapest to crack down on us.

It’s important to note that I had a good day, the police officers were all very fair to me, we talked a lot, and everything went well. Don’t worry too much about me. It’s strange, but I’m currently experiencing the most balanced period of my life, and sometimes I surprise even myself with how true this is. “

His message to his fans is not to follow his example, even though he is not Escobar and the police didn’t really gain anything from it.

BeyAlex is one of the most popular Hungarian pop stars, his concerts attract huge crowds., and he was a member of the X-Factor music talent show jury for several years.

He became famous in 2013 when he represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

He finished in 10th place with his own song “Kedvesem”.

A few days earlier, we reported that the police had conducted a drug raid at a nightclub in Budapest. Then 211 people were checked at the venue and 49 were taken for testing based on clinical symptoms. The tests showed that 16 people, including foreign nationals, had taken drugs. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against them.
