The Scottish celebrity chef celebrated his 59th birthday in Hungary — and it seems he was working hard while he was here.
“The Dorothea Hotel and Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global have entered into a strategic partnership, bringing one of the world’s most renowned culinary brands to Budapest,” reads the press release issued by the hotel.
This means that the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill concept will be implemented for the first time in the Central European region.
The restaurant is set to open in the summer of 2026 in the Dorothea Hotel, located in downtown Budapest — a property that, incidentally, is linked to István Tiborcz, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s son-in-law.

According to the announcement, the restaurant will combine Ramsay’s international style with premium-quality Hungarian ingredients. In addition to signature dishes, reinterpretations of popular Hungarian classics will also appear on the menu.
Ramsay spent several days in Budapest prior to the announcement. It turns out he celebrated his 59th birthday here.
He first uploaded a short video of himself sitting in front of a restaurant called Hungarian Hell’s Kitchen (known in Hungarian as Nagy Fa-Tál Konyhája), alluding to his long-running TV series launched in 2005.

Then, the St. Andrea Wine & Skybar posted a photo on Instagram showing Ramsay with the staff, wishing him a happy birthday. This venue is also located in downtown Budapest, not far from the site of Ramsay’s future restaurant.
