Prime Minister-elect Peter Magyar met Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Thursday, and invited her to visit Hungary.
Magyar said on Facebook that the meeting had been successful and forward-looking, adding that they had agreed to aid the successful work of Hungarian and Italian investors, and to promote the completion of the Hungarian port in Trieste, in northern Italy.

Hungary and Italy have similar views on several issues, including a firm stance against illegal migration, the EU integration of the Western Balkan countries and strengthening the competitiveness of EU member states, Magyar said.
Magyar arrived in Italy on Tuesday to attend the premiere of Spring Wind (Tavaszi szel), a a documentary on his life and his Tisza Party.
