More than 50 tons of carved stone have arrived from India.
One of Central Europe’s most unique religious buildings is set to be constructed in Hungary, in Tolna County, the Bharata Hindu Community announced.
Over 50 tons of traditionally crafted building materials have already arrived in the country for the construction of the Hindu temple complex. The shipment includes red sandstone elements from the Indian state of Rajasthan, as well as hand-carved wooden doors and windows.
“Our temple takes shape through these hand-carved stones and wooden elements, but its true essence will be the soul that moves within its walls—the millennia-old spiritual knowledge and peace it represents. Every detail of these carvings carries a message of universal harmony, made possible by the 1% tax donations of Hungarian taxpayers,” said Zoltán Leveles, a Hindu teacher and representative of the community.
A key feature of the project is that all elements were crafted by Indian master artisans, following the principles of traditional Hindu temple architecture, known as Vedic architecture. The temple will be built in a North Indian style, and its architectural components are already on-site awaiting installation.
The Bharata Hindu Community is a registered Hindu religious organization in Hungary. The arrival of these carved elements and the preparation phase of construction mark a significant milestone in Hungarian religious architecture, further strengthening the cultural and spiritual ties between India and Hungary.
