It will raise the number of R+D staff at the base to 130.
US-owned Gentherm Hungary will plough 6.3 billion HUF (19 million USD) into an R+D investment in Pilisszentivan, on the outskirts of the capital, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said today.
The government is supporting the investment, which will raise the number of R+D staff at the base to 130, with HUF 940m, Szijjarto said.

He acknowledged the contribution of Gentherm Hungary to improving car comfort and safety, and to boosting the efficiency of medical procedures, and said an agreement had been reached on registering patents produced at the base in Hungary.
Research at the base, which also serves as a regional logistics and engineering centre, extends to solutions for the automotive and medical technology industries.
Szijjarto noted that 78 large R+D investments had been made in Hungary over the past eleven years and around 90,000 people worked in the field.
