The overnight Adria IC will run from July 3 to October 2. The old, worn-out cars have been replaced.
Ticket sales have begun for the summer service of the Adria InterCity train running between Budapest and Split. The overnight train will run 2–4 times a week to the Croatian coast between July 3 and October 2, the MÁV Group announced on its website on Saturday.
Transportation and Investment Minister Dávid Vitézy announced on his Facebook page that some of the previously used sleeper and couchette cars are inoperable, and the problem has been resolved by putting leased Western European cars into service.
According to the announcement, a dining car on the train will provide dinner and breakfast options. Passengers can choose between sleeper or couchette accommodations, making the service an attractive option for families, young people, couples, groups of friends, and solo travelers alike.
Ticket prices do not include separate baggage or administrative fees, and passengers may bring as much carry-on luggage as they can carry themselves, free of charge. Exact prices may vary depending on the travel date, the selected comfort class, and the booking date.
MÁV notes that Lonely Planet ranked this route among the 10 most exciting train journeys in Europe in 2022.
Prices for a 6-bed couchette Private Cabin start at €240 per cabin. For individual travelers, the cheapest option starts at €46 per couchette bed.
